Make sure mom always has fresh flowers by decorating with these paper flowers in a glass vase. The flowers, made with a cricut machine, add a lovely soft pastel arrangement that you can do anything with. No need to worry about delicate petals falling off or sizing not matching up.
These are easy to make and put together, and depending on the paper you use, may just look like the real thing.
The Wow Factor
If you're hosting mom at night, create a wow factor with these lit letters. Different colors and styles are available in any letter.
Crafts for mom may sound like just something else she has to do. Unless you make it a craft she wants to do for herself and not for the kids.
Think of the woodworking, stamping or jewelry making parties. As a group, this always more enjoyable than doing it on your own.
Strawberry Mint Sparkler
Strawberries are in season in the warmer climates, so why not take advantage and make a strawberry mint sparkler for your mother's day party. She'll thank you for it!
2 1/2 ounces sliced fresh strawberries from approximately 5 medium berries
1/2 ounce simple syrup (see note)
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed juice from 1 lime
10 mint leaves
2 ounces vodka
2 1/2 ounces club soda
Lime wheel, mint, or strawberry for garnish (optional)
In a cocktail shaker, combine strawberries, simple syrup, and lime juice and muddle until strawberries are completely dissolved. Add mint leaves and gently tap 5 times with muddler. (Do not over-muddle mint or it will taste bitter and muddy.) Add vodka to shaker and fill 2/3 full with ice. Shake until well chilled, about 15 seconds.
Fill a Collins glass with ice and add club soda. Fine-strain cocktail into glass and stir gently. Garnish with lime, mint, or strawberry, if desired.
